When it comes to Mopar powerplants, the '64 to '71 Gen II Hemi is the undisputed king. Mike and Jim knew that was the only way to go. Starting with an Indy aluminum block filled with 4.5-inch Wiseco pistons and a 4.15-inch Eagle crank, displacement grew to 528 cubes. All those inches need to breathe, so massive Legend 285 CNC heads were chosen. They flow 440 cfm through 2.25-inch intake valves activated by a Comp solid roller cam. A Hogan sheetmetal intake with a 102mm FAST throttle-body guides the air to the heads, and a FAST EFI system controls the fuel and spark using distributorless ignition with coil packs from a 6.2L GM truck. Indy Cylinder Head tuned the engine, and it put down 770 hp at 6,600 rpm and 700 lb-ft at 5,400 rpm. There's also a 500hp Nitrous Express N20 system that will hopefully come into play at Wilmington when the Road Rattler takes on the Ohio Mile.
